Another update on Fall 2025 Registration in the new Vergil

Barnard College

Dear Students,

We are one week away from the start of fall registration. As I communicated in my previous emails, you will be registering for classes in the new Vergil registration system (instead of Student Planning).

Here are the to-do items from past emails if you missed them:

•  Explore the Vergil Course Search and Student Planner.
•  View your registration appointment times in Vergil. Be sure the term in the upper-right is set to Fall 2025. Contact registrar@barnard.edu immediately with any questions.
•  Complete the Financial Responsibility Statement in Vergil.

This week, to prepare yourself for registration, you can do the following things:

•  Log into Vergil
•  Complete the College’s Title VI training. This is a pre-registration requirement and must be completed by this Thursday, April 10 to avoid a registration hold in Vergil. To complete the training, watch the video here and do the quiz here. Please see Dean Grinage’s email here for further information.
•  Check for Holds that will prevent registration. If you have a hold, you will see a message at the top of the Vergil pages that says “There is a Hold on your record that is blocking registration.” Click on the “Holds” link to view the specific hold and how to resolve it. For students who have not completed the Title VI training, holds will be displayed in Vergil later this week.
•  Add classes to your Planner that you want to register for. Be sure the term in the upper-right is set to Fall 2025.
•  Watch videos here on how to register in Vergil

The steps of registering in Vergil are easy – and very similar to our previous Student Planning (Self-service) registration system:

1. Use the Course Search to find classes
2. Click “Add to Plan”
3. When your registration window is open, you can register for all classes in your Plan at once – or register for individual classes from your Plan.
4. During your registration window, you can also search for additional classes and just click the “Register” button to register for them. (Unlike Student Planning, you don’t have to put them on your Plan first.)

You can find more information about how to register in Vergil here.

If you have questions about Vergil or registration more generally, please contact the Registrar’s office at registrar@barnard.edu so that we can assist you.

Best wishes,

Jennifer Simmons

Registrar
